I, for one, am glad the album is not deeply bitter. I love the honesty of Breadwinner yet feel it is a disservice to the trajectory experience to go there first.
She creates an emotional journey with storytelling that is buoyant and melodically winsome while tackling darker topics than Golden Hour.
As a fan of Ruston, simultaneously, I am glad she didn’t just make a finger-pointing -it’s-all-your-fault-statement and takes some responsibility in really admirable lyrical moments.
His album (my favorite last year) is so full of grace and love and self-awareness.
I feel a strange connection to these two. I care deeply about them almost as if I feel related to both of them. Their music hits the bulls-eye for me every time.
Cannot get enough of this album! So, so, so good!
