A writer writes an instant classic about Silicon Valley. Let’s all read it!

This article definitely makes me want to read her memoir. Her article really points to the seduction of this kind of work and I appreciate her honesty about it.

This critique makes me want to read Uncanny Valley.

I totally relate to this - I too loved these things absentmindedly and took them for granted:

...the disruption-beyond-recognition of subtlety and flirtation and dining and travel and journalism and democracy and one of America’s great counter-cultural cities, among other things I had loved absentmindedly, as though they could be taken for granted, before I realized how quickly they would be brought to their knees.

After reading this, I'm not sure that my time might not be spent reading something else. It sounds almost as if the point of the book is feelings, moods, not an actual analysis of the industry. Or maybe I should read it and see if I'm wrong...

Clear must read if you’re into the madness that is these tech behemoths and how they are shaping our realities. Just reserved Uncanny Valley at the library and I can’t wait to read it.
