Fascinating. I was so skeptical about gummies from the start - appeals to the entire idea of sugar as the carrier of medicine. Melatonin is a hormone and I feel should not be given to children. Giving a hormone, even to adults, tends to shut off your own body’s mechanism for making the hormone. Melatonin should be used occasionally when you really need it. I take 2mg of an ionized form and am trying to wean myself off of it. My problem is never falling asleep, it’s going back to sleep after waking to use the bathroom. I can’t imagine giving children this, as it could really interfere with their body’s own mechanism and wisdom.
