Cheap LED lights put out so much radio frequency interference that they mess up my garage door opener. When the lights are on, the opener can't be triggered when parked on the street, with them off, the door opens and closes fine from even farther away. I have to use old-fashioned incandescent lights for the opener, they still sell the higher efficiency halogen versions, but who knows for how much longer? I need them for the light dimmers we have in many rooms of our house too. Phone chargers and other wall-warts have a similar problem. I used to be into ham radio and shortwave listening, I understand that these hobbies are now plagued by interference from these devices. The FCC was supposed to approve all such devices to prevent interference, but they seem to have given up due to the flood of Chinese products that just come in under a different name if you stop one brand from being sold. They don't care because, except for AM radio (who listens to that anymore? I'm sure they think), the most affected frequencies are only used by hobbyists anymore. Even my garage door works on a high enough frequency that it works fine when the bulbs are more than 6 or so feet away, it just hates it when they are screwed directly into its sockets.
