I'm curious as to whether this problem happens with lead left in other areas.

I recently had a BB removed from my face (right by the corner of my nose) that had been there for about 18 years. It never caused me any problems but I had to have a head MRI so it had to go. Luckily BBs are generally made of steel with a copper coating but still, who knows what kind of impurities that metal could have had. I'm glad to have it gone!

That's very interesting because my best friend's brother had almost exactly the same thing happen to him. He thought it was some sort of pimple or wart until a Dr guessed what it was and removed it. It might be a very common situation...

That's hilarious, I initially didn't know the BB had embedded itself in my face either! I knew when I got hit with it of course, but didn't realize it was in there until a couple years later when I went to get braces and the x-ray techs and doctors came in with very confused looks on their faces and an image with a perfect circle in the middle of it. Might be very common indeed.

My friend was the shooter too... He thinks that maybe he hit a pore, so the wound was not too obvious.
