Interesting story that really makes you contemplate death in a serene and peaceful way. I like how the author presents the couple and dilemma around choosing to go on your own terms. I think the main thing I took away is how intertwined the life of the Bealer’s truly was - sounds like an awesome, eccentric and talented couple.
I’ve known several people with MS and I’d never want to be incapacitated, so I understand Pam’s decision. I still think it takes more courage than I might have. Eric’s choice is what fascinates me in this story because he seems to have so much to live for. I’m married for 52 years to a man who’s been my best friend since the fourth grade and yet I still don’t understand this kind of “fused” love. It sounds compelling and yet scary in a way. This is a very thought-provoking read to say the least!!!
52 years! You are a great love story all on your own.
That’s so sweet, thank you!!
