This is a fascinating account of some historical context of the roots of techno music specifically as it relates to the city of Detroit.

"It was interesting because it was that post, end of the disco era, so you still had light beacons, a disco ball, flashes and fog going on, everybody dressed up all crazy."

^Love all of these elements talked about above. The atmosphere plays such a critical role in having a great time.

Since I am trying to be legitimate in this realm, it is critical for me to understand the history!

Collier helped bring Detroit’s dance community even closer and facilitated friendship and social networking rather than rivalry amongst the DJs.

As I was saying in the previous article I read today [Software is Reorganizing the World] (https://readup.com/comments/wired/software-is-reorganizing-the-world/zZ7bmD), taking advantage of the technological wonders we have for easily reaching out to people locally. This is probably the easiest it has ever been to start a community. Metro Detroit DJ's galore, haha I'll have to think of a cool name for the community.
