Yes Pegeen, things need to change. And they are changing but at a rate that is way too slow. Most of the world treats women as second class citizens or even worse with terror and violence. These women are champions for human rights.

Beyond a 10! The author deserves a rousing round of applause for his NOTICING!!! I am very familiar with quite a few of these women and I plan on Googling the rest. I would also like to add that, for me, there are SO many heroines that are just living their lives that are extremely complicated when they are working full time, raising a family (perhaps alone) and possibly caring for their aging parents. Even in partnerships, most women do double the duty and usually without getting praised. But, if their husband were to help, OMG, it’s coronation time! Unfortunately, there is still that double standard and it needs to change. I know it’s happening but molasses slow.
