A wonderful little meditation. Worth reading VERY slowly, because this is the kind of thing you could think about for hours (days! years!) and still just barely start breaking through.
Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland: “I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.”
There’s a 20 year old in my yoga teacher training who has schizophrenia. He closes his eyes and lifts his arms up and breathing deeply, loudly, says, “I can see Buddha so fast, just like...I’m there!” triumphant. Reminded me of this from the article: “When you see a Buddha, it is difficult, impossible to sleep anymore the way you used to sleep before.”
