      Another article about social media and content moderation. I think eventually we'll need to deal with moderation here on Readup as well, but for now the read-before-you-comment feature has kept the worst kind of users away.

      But when you consider why these apps failed as quickly as they did, lax content moderation is surely among the biggest reasons. Most people will only spend so long in a virtual space in which they are surrounded by the worst of humanity. If Parler or Gettr will be remembered at all, it will be because they created networks for conservatives that not even conservatives could stand to be in.

      This conclusion doesn't really fit with the rest of the article. Conservatives could absolutely stand being on Parler, surrounded by the worst of humanity. They thrived there, and the platform was wldly popular. What killed the app was it being banned from the iOS and Android app stores (which granted was a direct result of its lax moderation).
