Loved it! Energy exists in all things. I also loved the reference to inhuman time. Looking thru the lens of the inhumane (rocks, trees) is a powerful and humbling experience.

I love stories told in this staccato fashion with very little poetic style, more bizarreness shaping the content of the tale. I wouldn’t want a steady diet of this but an occasional meal is gratifying.

This was really excellent! Couldn't agree more about the style of writing. It's a nice contrast to more florid styles that I feel can sometimes make it difficult to get lost in the actual story.

Loved the paragraph about the history of the stone which included this gem:

A stone is a thought that the earth develops over inhuman time.
