hahaha... you didn't even think it was funny!?

No, it was lazy writing. The author's just picking on someone and connecting their bullying to a greater "middle-aged-white-male sadness." I know it's en vogue to hate on white men but that's why it's lazy and frankly just plain gross. I predict we're going to collectively look back on articles like this in ten years with embarrassment and regret. Articles like these make me feel like we need some kind of voting/feedback functionality on this site since I don't want to elevate it by replying to your comment.

Wow!!! You're very optimistic about being in the "middle" I just don't feel like that yet. Have you checked out government, Wall Street, executives in America, the big tech companies? On the reverse side, the disproportionate amount of woman in teaching and health care professions is staggering. I believe (after this election) that a lot of men are digging their heals in and doubling downing (how many men couldn't vote for Hilary because she wasn't "likable" but Trump was???) Hope you're right, we need a more even (in all respects) representation in America.

Hey joanne. If you'll allow me to edit/clarify your comment a bit, what do you think about this version: "The middle of the end for white men."

Because (1) I don't think it's "the beginning" of anything! We're in the midst of something - don't you think?! and (2) I took "rich" out because, well, frankly, rich people (men & women) still rule and are likely to for a long time coming. Thoughts?

Oh yes, I loved this. Trashy topics are perfectly acceptable when they're elevated to this level of epic magnitude.
