Yup. I recently started reading Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl, on this exact topic. Sex and relationships may not solve all of our existential crises, but they also add meaning and purpose in many other ways.
The ending reminds me of a recent story I heard about Osho.
He had gotten into a routine everyday and every morning, but then he started struggling with the routine and couldn’t figure out how to course correct. Finally friend invited him for a gathering and offered him drink knowing he would decline because he never drank. This one time he accepted. Next day he was back on his routine path laughing and laughing and laughing.
