Bill Rodgers, the American running phenomenon of the nineteen-seventies, once said that “the marathon can humble you.” On Saturday, Eliud Kipchoge humbled the marathon.

Absolutely incredible. I highly recommend checking out this YouTube video about Kipchoge and the marathon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A73HQwEct-o

It's unreal how perfect his form is. Watching the other runners attempt to sprint the same pace he kept up for the entire two hours really drives home what an unbelievable achievement it is.

The author of this article, Ed Caesar, spent several years reporting in Kenya and around the world for his book, “Two Hours,” about the quest to run the first sub-two marathon. And immediately before the event, he published this one: https://readup.com/read/the-new-yorker/inside-the-race-to-break-the-two-hour-marathon

It wouldn't surprise me if Ed is the only person on the planet even more stoked about all of this than Kipchoge himself. :P

Kipchoge really is beyond exceptional. Nothing gets me more stoked than people who say, "I don't believe in limits."
