The year 2020, before it got here, seemed so futuristic, so full of promise.

Boy, was I ever wrong. 2020 has shaped into a year nobody will ever want to remember. And yet remember we must, because, as the saying goes, those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it. Let's never forget any of this, ever.

I pray for her healing, such a trauma to experience.

This raises a few questions... Who is human? Why should we care? Why should white people care about black people? Why do Black lives matter? Why do human lives matter?

We can’t matter unless we are seen as human beings first.

Something so basic we’ve been trying to teach others for years.

“sit with that misery until something breaks in their brain, the narrative changes in their psyche, and the legacy of emotional paralysis lifts entirely. I don’t mean self-serving sadness or performative tears, but rather a bone-deep sense of agony and grief that forces the humanization of black people.”

I was just about to post the exact same quote. So heavy. So strong.
