I've read a lot of articles about the meth epidemic over the years, but I wasn't aware of the shift from ephedrine to P2P production, or that the two superficially similar products have such different effects on users.
Does it feel like this article gets a bit side-tracked though? It starts out about this mysterious P2P meth with the l-methamphetamine removed, but never really dives further into the mystery.
A 10 Read, but yes, I agree with KB that the article gets side-tracked and also does a dangerous thing in profiling homeless addicts as certain ways (flashlights, bicycles, hoodies up, etc) that could lead reading minds to do a blanket judgement.
I would urge any reader to remember that (especially in our times of co-vid and economic crisis growing): Not Every Homeless Individual is Addicted or Experiencing Mental Health Issues. Today, one can be Sober and Doing Everything they should or need to be doing and still experience homelessness ~ and these individuals can then be subject to false community gossip of addiction or mental health issues. Remember Every Story Is Different and Unique and Every One is worthy of Choosing Life, Experiencing Pure Love and Kindness and Second Chances.
