My first thought: Panaceas are overrated and spite is underrated.
I think that to a certain extent disillusionment is normal and healthy. I feel like there’s an important balance to be struck between being at peace with the fact that the latest utopian vision will not be realized any time soon while also not becoming completely jaded or complacent with the status quo.
