As someone who was raised in a left-leaning liberal Christian tradition (yes, that's a thing, just not anywhere as common as fundamentalism), I just don't understand the "waiting for the rapture" attitude of so many evangelicals/fundamentalism.

That is so cool! I never heard of a left-leaning Christian. You are a rare bird my friend!

When you read the New Testament with an open mind, you see that Jesus stood for much that conservatives today balk at. Woody "This Land is Your Land' Guthrie wrote a song about it called, simply "Jesus Christ." "If Jesus preached today what he preached in Galilee, they'd put poor Jesus in his grave." There's an organization called, "The Christian Left", which I first discovered on Facebook for left-leaning Christians. Many people from the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ denomination are center to left-leaning. We even ordain LGBTQ people. I think pretty much all Quakers are left-leaning too.

The only way my very strict Catholic upbringing prepared me for this pandemic, was by making me look elsewhere for answers to questions that my fear based religion raised. As a young person, the God that was presented to me never made any sense. So I started to investigate all the many religions and found my way to a spirituality that brings me great peace and joy. Meditation is my ground, my anchor, my center - without it I could see being Henny Penny the sky is falling!
