This is Alarming and Infuriating! My Mom alerted me to this article as she was a victim of something oddly similar yet not as dire as this court appointed guardianship.

I once did a welfare check on my Mom when living out of state and it spiraled into something disturbing as cops ended up committing my Mom to the hospital. While I was in L.a. swimming at a lovers house I remembering yelling on the phone with a case worker who was not going to allow the release of my Mom to stay with family friends in Arizona where she could heal from all the mess (they had her doped up on pharmaceuticals). I told the guy,”you all are supposed to be a part of improving the lives of those in your care! We have an opportunity to do that for my Mom and you are not allowing it?!” I don’t know what miracle made him change his mind, but thankfully he did and my Mom was released. Exhaustedly she drove from Louisiana to Arizona by herself telling me on the phone at times she felt like she was dying. Thankfully she arrived safely at our friends’ house and she got back on her feet. She got off the meds they had prescribed her and started walking every morning and got a great job.

In the wake of what happened to her, she is often scouting for stories like these and says there are an Alarming amount of news stories like the one above (which is also reflected in the article above).

I cannot imagine what this mother and son are going through. It is Criminal and Inhumane for a third party judge/court/guardianship to make decisions for them that the two of them are capable of.

Be mindful of this shit going on dear friends! Especially if you are a child living out of state from your parents which seems to be a predatory pattern here for targeted abuse.

Tar, feathers, ran out of town on a pole.

I'm joking of course, but this is the infuriating madness that makes you want to burn the whole thing down. I couldn't patiently wait for the process to work itself out while my parent spend the last few years of their life in de facto prison.

Right?!?!?!? I cannot wrap my mind around this criminal abuse of sovereign and inalienable human rights. This woman and son should be released from this absurd prison, pronto! These scenarios need to be made right. All these “guardianship” companies are gonna experience a reckoning at some point.

          1. Update (3/4/2021):

He has her own home for her to return to for Pete’s sake.

It really hits home, personally, because if the case worker had not had a miraculous change of heart in my own Mom’s situation we could have easily found ourselves in a similar systematic clusterfuck.
