When you frame your opponents [as subhuman], you won’t just watch them burn. You’ll be happy about it.”

I’m just happy to read about a few who escaped this cult. All may not be lost!

I've recently read (on Reddit) about some more people escaping. This is good.

This whole thing makes me so sad and frustrated. The system is broken beyond repair...

      • kurpels3 years ago

That’s not true. It’s broken right now but there’s always something we can do.

          I like your optimism.

I think it’s not so much an issue of political governance but more so a problem with the incentives that companies have. So maybe it is a governance issue but more so on an economical level. Companies need the drama to get attention which drives clicks and hence revenue. So they’ll always become more extreme and more polarising. An extremist society can’t govern a democratic system. Democracy relies on a mature and educated citizen. If the citizen is radicalised and misinformed by the economical powers because that’s what they need to do to survive... that’s what I call broken and I honestly don’t know how to repair that

It's trippy to imagine reading an article like this as a Q-believer. Knowing that others are plotting to try to deprogram you and fracture your faith would only confirm the existence of the conspiracy and strengthen your resolve. It's a difficult situation but it's always nice to hear the stories of those who managed to snap out of it.

This reads like a combination of science fiction and a horror movie. Truly unbelievable.

Future history books are going to be completely bizarre.

Such a great point! Like the movie Refer Madness! What a hoot if you’ve never seen it. It was an educational tool used to dissuade kids from smoking pot. You feel like you’re high just watching it!
