For me, a big part of spirituality is overcoming daily challenging situations with calm and care. When we lose it, for instance, what exactly are we losing? Nothing less than our selves. We all lose it sometimes, but we can lose it less often by continually reconnecting to our best selves and to each other.

Great article. Being my own experiment in this field, I have found all forms of meditation and mindfulness to be life altering in every aspect of my life. I find that all of my senses are more honed, my connections deeper, my awareness more acute. I feel I am more able to respond to life than react. Even how I work out has become more about somatic awareness - inside and outside of my body. And I do feel much more connected to everything. It’s such a great counterbalance to our rapidly growing technological world. Walks in nature also ranks very high on my list. So healing.

Quadrato Motor Training (QMT) that demands both coordination and mindfulness. Practitioners alternate between dynamic movements and static postures, while dividing their attention between their body in the present moment and its location in space. QMT requires a connection between the ‘external’ world and the inner realm by requiring the participant to be intentionally aware of both inner and outer ‘worlds’ simultaneously.

I first thought of yoga when I read this little blurb on QMT. A little rabbit hole on the internet informs me that walking has also been a form of QMT in formalized research studies. This all comes back full circle to me... long walks can stimulate creativity or simply a greater state of inner peace.

And now I'm off to stretch and meditate...
