So interesting, this person’s life. Rich on many levels. Their illness perhaps a portal to a much deeper experience of living. Forced into “being,” they glimpsed a world others too busy “doing” might miss. Hummingbirds are magical. We have them in our backyard. Once, we heard a repeated banging outside. Drawn to the entrance of our home, I noticed a hummingbird caught in the corner, over by the door, repeatedly banging into the glass door. My husband got a ladder and gloves. He very carefully reached for this frightened bird and cupped it loosely in his hands. When he got off the ladder, we both got a very close look. The iridescent blue/green body was magnificent. To actually be holding magic in one’s hands was insane. My husband opened his palms and the bird flew away unharmed. What a gift!
Whoa. Going into this read it was really cool to start off and then as it unfolds realize it is associated with a New York Times bestselling author and his latest novel. I definitely need to read this book.
Today on this cold and snowy two-steps-back-from-spring weather day (flurries as I type) I was awed to go outside earlier with a bowl full of water for birds and suddenly hear the Ecstatic buzz of the first hummingbird visit of the season! My body became electric with Joy!
Today has been spectacularly bird themed and to experience a first hummingbird visit of the season is the cherry on top.
Last year one of my friend’s gifted a beautiful pink hummingbird feeder from a company called So Real and so now I have it on the counter. Ready. Just gotta go buy some Sugah.
Fantastic Read! 10. 10. 10.
Update (4/17/2021):
Can we honor and admire that gorgeous book cover with a moment of silence or two?

I have always loved hummingbirds and always will.
Likewise, Franny 😉
Hummingbirds prove “Life Itself Is the Most Wonderful Fairytale”.
