      Really helpful piece when it comes to framing our thinking with "networking".

      This article emphasizes that we should instead be focusing on the process of building community... rather than merely finding more LinkedIn "connections".

      The way the author lays out how we should approach building community works like this:

      Your primary community is the people who you can benefit.

      The second kind of community are the people who can support you.

      Any relationship needs to be mutual, as well as reciprocal. Especially when it comes to "professional" contacts.

      Surround yourself with people who inspire you and hold you accountable to be your best self.

      This sentence captures it entirely as to what we should want from our networks.

      This is gold. Seems like common sense but I’m sure many people need to read this.

      Slowly build yourself a trusted network of people you can support, and key supporters for you in your life.
