        omg yes! this is, indeed, excellent.

        i felt horrible about myself recently for listening to a few hours of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift. i wanted it to be ironic but there was nothing ironic about it; the machine said "you will like this" and i did. nothing more to it.

        knowing that you have "bad taste" (which for me means corporate, conventional, disposable, cheap, ugly) can be actually quite painful lol. we're only kinda-sorta in control of what we like. it makes life interesting, but also sometimes tough.

          the article made me confront some of my own need to be counterculture too. i'm trying to be okay with openly liking the popular. the machine is good at its job; sometimes popular is fun
