The bright spot is that this issue goes away sooner than most folks think. By the end of the summer the only adults without vaccination will be those who shouldn't for various reasons and those who don't want to for various reasons. Those may be legitimate reasons, but as a country/states we probably wont continue mass mitigation efforts. So the need for a passport just isn't there. The country will open back up; either you're vaccinated or you're not -but everyone will have had their chance.

The inequality of this is what scares me. There is going to be a clear division in access to services and places between two classes in society

I mean, we're seeing that in Israel where they have something similar to this that allows you access to into certain spaces. And that might mean that people who were hesitant would want to get the vaccine. But it could also worsen inequality.

But there are very important equity questions. It would be grossly unethical, in my view, to give privileges to the already privileged and to leave the poor and racial minorities behind.

I am having individuals cross my path within our community who say that military service are advising loved ones not to get the vaccine and that in the near future there will be an increase in deaths associated with the vaccinations; also that the vaccinations are eventually going to become an infringement on individual consent/decision.

These are interesting times. I now have vaccinated family members and I am supportive of their choice. I really hope the reality of all this is that the vaccines are long term effective.

Writing True~True the new possibilities of only being allowed to travel or enter certain spaces if you are vaccinated disturbs me.

However, I was vaccinated as a kid and I acknowledge that certain travel locations require vaccination papers already.

I may end up having to surrender to vaccine I suppose. I am torn all over this issue. More core voice says this is all happening too fast and feels dodgy to me. I might be wrong. I hope I am wrong.

If there are any articles regarding the history of travel, passport, vaccination requirements I would love to read them. Curious if we have ever faced similar polarization in the past regarding similar issues of health issues/vaccines/travel. Reading such info would probably offer a little more grounded insight.
