Immediately Starts Spinning In my Frontal Lobe whilst reading Here:
“We call upon the people
People have this power
The numbers don't decide
Your system is a lie
The river running dry
The wings of a butterfly
And you may pour us away like soup
Like we're pretty broken flowers
We'll take back what is ours
Take back what is ours
This is a good example of people wanting to argue with the strawman of what they (and others) say an idea says, rather than what the idea actually says. Which - as the author points out - doesn't mean the idea isn't wrong or shouldn't be criticized and debated. You should bring your best arguments against their best arguments, that is how ideas improve and minds change.
Hopefully this will stop soon
