To quote Adam savage, "I reject this reality and substitute my own."

Except that we have more than one reality that we want to be ours, depending on the audience.

Perhaps this is Hollywood’s greatest achievement: It gets us excited about our dystopian future. The world might be ending, but at least it’s an ending that’s entertaining to watch.

Being an avid video gamer (in my past) and stepping back and seeing 'reality' for what it is... truly makes one reconsider their choices... should I dive back into video games or design my life as much as I can like a video game?

It is a saddening realization, VR anyone?

The Earth and the life it contains is continuously coming to equilibrium, Reality is only another human construct. Keep living Life and Love ❤️

There's so much insight in this essay that it's kind of frightening.

Loved this! I still think we can handle the post-truth. Articles like this are helping to make it possible.

The problem is not that we live in multiple realities or that these realities are sometimes at odds with each other. What’s problematic is that we sometimes get so immersed in one virtual world, that we forget about all the other realities – which brings us back to the problem of online conspiracies...It feels like some of the new virtual realities we have created need more than that. A kill switch that automatically brings us back to base reality.

Silicon Valley is not just creating new fantasy worlds, it is building tools that allow others to create their own fantasy worlds

We need different channels for our different, contradicting online personas.
