I foresee the film release being my first return to the theater. I can’t imagine viewing a film like this on HBO for the first time versus theater.
The author compares the native Fremen to Middle East/Islam which is understandable. Living within miles of the most ancient Pueblo in North America and currently living on and near land that is (no joke) alive with all kinds of karmic history of violence and ghosts of Spain/Native American/Anglo settlers... and grasping how important water is to our future...I feel this text Really Hits Close to Home. Also, the more woo-woo elements of Dream visions and meditation and mystical abilities and animal totem symbology/messengers feel way less woo-woo and timelessly Legit as many of the training Paul, Jessica, Leto, Chani, Fremen receive are now in a heightening sense of legitimacy in our 2021 reality.
