Your moment is getting closer and closer. Love that people are beginning to see the downside and danger of passing information because of a catchy headline. Readup is on the cutting edge.

        I KNOW, RIGHT!?

The author basically described an exact business case for why FB/Twitter/Reddit might want to acquire Readup one day. In the meantime though, there are reasons that those big companies can't implement these reading-centric features on their platforms. (And not just because they're infringing on our IP ;)) Namely, to shift user attention away from feeds and ads really hurts the top line. There's little doubt in my mind that senior folks at the big companies have tested this stuff and realized, "oh - we don't make nearly as much money this way."

Also, this might be a bit of a reach, but I've been thinking: reading is really not addicting in the same way that the core social media experience is - liking and sharing headlines and viral pics and vids. After finishing a solid read, I usually just want some time and space to think. My brain can't work so hard for so long.

Anyway, for almost three years I've been saying things like "we're about to catch a wave" and "the market is maturing in our direction" and "consumer demand is shifting towards us." The boiling point just keeps rising! :) And just in time for a few big updates coming soon!
