Religions change over time. The Christianity we know today (in all its forms) would be unrecognizable to First Century Christians. That's okay, churches change to reflect the people in them, specifically their needs and the society's needs. If people are leaving religion, maybe religion needs to take a hard look in the mirror and ask whom they're serving.
