      This is crucial! At our co-op we are good about putting fruits and veggies in a free bin if they start to appear less than presentable. I strive to use every fresh item even if they start to show a bit of brown or bruises.

      I am really proud of our community as the local food donation center core to our community getting fed is starting a new gleaning program with farms and gardens. Excited to be a part of that.

      Food waste hurts my heart. Getting takeout in styrofoam and plastic hurts my heart (and yet I am guilty every now and again. Co-vid has made businesses a lot more hesitant on reusable containers too 😞).

      Important issue for us all to remain mindful of.

      Also, if I use a fruit or veggie that looks questionable in cooking I will usually follow it up with a kombucha swig or ginger or other good yummy vibes.
