      Amazing.

Date says 2016 (because that's when EFF republished it) but it was originally written in 1996. Fun, interesting read.

It's depressing to see how far we've fallen from these lofty ideals...!

Cyberspace consists of transactions, relationships, and thought itself, arrayed like a standing wave in the web of our communications. Ours is a world that is both everywhere and nowhere, but it is not where bodies live.

Fascinating historical piece on the utopian vision laid out for the internet.

We are creating a world that all may enter without privilege or prejudice accorded by race, economic power, military force, or station of birth.

Reading this piece, it may be easy to be pessimistic.. but lets focus on the optimism within this piece. We are still able to reclaim the internet from corporate conglomerates and invasive governments. And it all starts with "pockets" on the internet, striving to create an entirely different online experience. Just as is happening with Readup right now.

Stay optimistic friends, cyberspace still has a chance to be wonderful.
