In my own town of Toms River, NJ developers are still cutting down what remaining trees we have and putting up strip malls. And this is despite the fact that most strip malls are not even fully occupied. I see countless advertisements for office rental space. Our mall is never crowded except for a holiday. I saw a dead deer by the main road to the mall and wondered where it could have come from. How many banks do we need, how many drug stores, gas stations, fast food restaurants? It’s so sad how much we “take” as piggish Americans. We MUST actively care about this.
