      That revolting ‘I suffered so you too must suffer’ mentality.

        It’s hard to believe such practices still exist—and for what? The mentality that a woman should be shamed at her husband’s death is inconceivable. It makes me sad that women will visit these humiliations on other women but that’s how they’re acculturated.
