It may also speak to a brain-brokenness on my part, but I'm generally kinder to people no matter their political leanings. Feels a little arrogant to think less of your partner for their political stance (something you should have known before entering a longterm 'contract' with them).

This week, a number of Africans on Twitter (I am African) were offended that news reports expressing befuddlement over the low reported cases of the Corona virus, and they thought it was Western racism at play. I personally think it's measured, reasonable curiosity/conservation (are there social/geographical/topographical peculiarities that make the disease's transmission less viral? Or are we just not testing properly?)

Someone could think my brain was broken for being this way. I could also think their brain was broken for entertaining 'conspiracy theories'.

I didn’t see what you saw, but obviously I trust every word you say because you actually read, lol. If you think that “it's measured, reasonable curiosity/conservation,” then it probably is.

I love hearing marriage referred to as a longterm contract, lol. What a level-set.

“Brain-brokenness” is something we gotta dissect. It’s everywhere. It’s the new “Fake News.”

ok just throwing this out there: have we considered a ReadUp dating app? where two people (or more, who am i to judge?) must have relatively equal reading time/completion stats in order to connect? this could save DOZENS of contracts in the long run!

Wow, great idea. Readup could connect people who might have similar interests in articles chosen.

Lololol, imagining everyone in this community swiping left and right on each other is giving me a ROARING laugh right now.

            • joshw4 years ago

except in this case instead of swiping it’s reading!

      🧠 🆙

Views on politics reflect a lot about people. For instance, they show your first-hand knowledge, your courage and insight, how much you’ve read, your ability to think and distinguish right from wrong, how much you care for others and feel a sense of social responsibility, how well you can resist swindlers, whether you feel part of a national mission and love your compatriots, whether you especially love your homeland or other things, and so on. These things all distinguish people’s fundamental judgment.

      Zoom in:

      how much you’ve read

      Again:

      how much you’ve read

That speeds my heart, lol. 🤩
