I think it’s a shame that this article was even written or given attention. Who knows what’s true our leaders on both sides have been lying to the voters since the beginning of time and now the media, journalists and companies have chosen sides which is a problem for all sides. The Trump administration is done let’s move on and it would be nice if legislators actually started doing there jobs and created policy instead of having the executive branch just issue executive orders.

I would agree that it's true that people who are happy that the president is gone are excited to lap up media like this. And I have no problem with what Powell's only comment to the author was: "I would caution the readers to view mainstream media reports of any such conversations with a high degree of discernment and a healthy dose of skepticism." So I will do just that. This article is one voice in the echo chamber right now and I will listen to it, remain skeptical, but definitely still take it into account.

🤣 OMG! Cracking up so much.

I actually didn't even want to read this, but once I started I couldn't stop. Which is surely why it won AOTD. Just too juicy to resist.

Extremely entertaining to read. The Patrick Byrne details might have been my favorite part.

It's like the craziest episode of The West Wing ever! I've been watching the series for the first time recently and it seems so quaint compared to what we've witnessed over the past four years. It's an unusual case of a TV show being unbelievable because the stories seem too normal and mundane.

OMG, this was laugh out loud SNL material! I agree about your comparison to The West Wing. The show’s stories do seem unbelievable but so do the president and staff!!! Like an episode of Friends or Cheers!

This reads like a movie script - except it’s not

      Wow.

Satirist filmmaker Armando Giovanni Iannucci should have a Field Day with this meeting scenario.

One participant later recalled: "When Rudy's the voice of reason, you know the meeting's not going well."

      😂

      Holy $h!t.

You may not like a lot of the figures in the Trump White House/Presidency -and some of them are well deserving of a tarnished reputation. But in the years to come, I hope we keep an open mind that some folks in there stayed so that they could be the voice or reason in moments like this. Imagine that day without Lyons and Herschmann and the others, imagine if it had been all recently promoted from junior staffer latchons and sucks ups.
