Music reviewers use lots of adjectives :)

I can so relate to some music growing on you, as it did with the reviewer. It’s like wine or beer or many other good but not immediately catchy things: it takes repeated exposure to grow a sensitivity and appreciate it more and more. Empyrium is among my favorite bands!

Thanks for sharing! I will check out Empyrium! I am open to sampling anything.

I dabble some in harder music listening.: this year I am digging the melodic hard edge of You Me At Six and one my favorite harder bands that feels a bit like Radiohead on cinematic testorone at times is Arcane Roots.

Really digging Arcane Roots, and that is a pretty good description! Thanks!

Glad you dig! Yeah, I first discovered them via the “Curtains” vid/song and could.not.stop.viewing/listening. The way it burst and built into skyscraper musical atmosphere by the end. “If Nothing Moves, Nothing Breaks” is so viscerally captivating. “Off the Floor” is good. I feel another deep dive in AR coming on.

Thanks for Empyrium track recommend as well. Good stuff. Almost King Arthur & Knights of the Roundtable esque.

Don’t know how much you dipped your toes into You Me At Six, but I strongly recommend the Abbey Road orchestral performance of Glasgow as an introduction. Magnifique!

I just got a hit that you might really enjoy this Incredible album, The Barbarians Move In by a Leeds band, Duels.

Definitely ranks as an all time favorite album. It is very mythical and castle-y and choir voices and wolves and wilderness. Dark, haunting, gothic and melodic.

This should link to the full album. Grabs you from the opening track:

Listened to it then, but only looping back now: no worries, I'm using Spotify so listened to it there. Digging it!

        Digging the opening track.

What are your personal favorite tracks Thor?

My buddy Yusten the Music Guru might like this if he is unaware. I will pass on the recommend.

Hey Dellwood! Glad you like it. I don't have a favorite on this album yet, but as far as Empyrium goes, When Shadows Grow Longer on their album "Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays (1999)" jumps out. That one is actually catchy!

I very much agree. Great comparison with these lovely drinks! :)
