      The essay is strongest when describing the moral failure and hypocrisy of deportation. It is weakest when placing this in historical context or comparing this to the Holocaust or Armenian Genocide. I'd be interested in seeing why this is the first modern mass deportation vs the many other mass deportation of the nineteenth century that preceded it or the eighteenth century for that matter. That history provides context while not in any way redeeming the atrocity.
