As I sat watching the spire collapse into the dome of Notre Dame, it was so reminiscent of witnessing the explosion of Challenger and the fall of The Twin Towers. Disbelief. Horror. I am not equating these 3, as the loss of lives and acts of terrorism are much more devastating and impactful, but there is this awareness that I am a part of a sad moment in history. I’ve had a love affair with Cathedrals ever since reading Ken Follet’s trilogy beginning with Pillars Of The Earth. I am so glad I was able to live my dream of going to Paris, as it was everything I imagined. And Notre Dame was awe inspiring.
