This is really interesting news in the cryptocurrency space, although I suspect we're going to see a lot of panic from Tether about this...
This is one of the better explanations of the pitfalls and advantages of artificial intelligence, specifically the point about it reducing menial work. However, it will only work if we can ensure equitable distribution of the technology.
Let's say you're working in the GiS industry, AI can (and is) replacing people in the analytics department in Esrii. On the face of it this is bad, but it also opens an opportunity.
Now all of these unemployed analytical specialists can open their own niche agencies, using AI to do the heavy-lifting, and since they're specialized they might be doing a better job than the bigger companies can do, more efficiently.
For me that's likely to be one of the more positive outcomes, if we can avoid AI falling into the hands of monopolies.
I can see the value here, keeping meetings productive is a huge challenge, although I can see a certain kind of person weaponizing these statistics to chastise people for being unengaged, rather than adjusting their own behaviour.
