Incredible and so engrossing to read. I can’t help but to post a note about Adam in the story. I get that the author was in the throes of understanding and coming to terms with what this discovery about herself means, but this isn’t something that you can spring on someone and expect them to have the perfect reaction. Could he have handled it better? Of course. But I can understand why he reacted that way. To be a good partner, you have to care enough about the other person’s thoughts and feelings to talk to them about sensitive issues in a timely way (ie before sex) and give them time to process. Granted she was struggling with this herself at the time and it’s totally understandable. I hope in hindsight, she can find it in herself to understand (and perhaps maybe even empathize) a bit with how he reacted and let it go, and not let it hurt her anymore.
A thoroughly enjoyable read! And I’m cringing while realizing that I’ve been referring to myself as radically honest, without knowing about the actual movement. I always thought it was just a great way to describe valuing honesty in high stakes situations even at the risk of ruffling feathers, not being hesitant to speak up, etc. I am not prepared to fart in front of literally everyone - BRB going to go scrub my LinkedIn of all references to radical honesty lol.
Content of the article is informative and provides a great glimpse into some inspiring people who has lived and navigated very different lives than me. But I gotta say I loathe the clickbaity title - the content deserves a better headline.
