This is great news, I can't wait! For sure there are a of downtime moments when I wish I could be reading but end up going on social apps instead. Those apps are just not made for mindfully consuming content.

Throwing a suggestion out - it would be awesome if i can add articles from other sources on to rr's app and track my reading. I find that i save a lot of articles on various sites (this is also just bad hoarding behaviour on my part, i should just be more disciplined about reading them), but don't go back and read enough of them.

It's a book promotion, but Scott G talks about content towards the end which hits close to home. All the top 4 companies have mostly sacrificed control over content in exchange for scale and have pretty much optimized for "distraction content". Because why care about quality content if the users are telling you what they would like to purchase with the least amount of friction? It matters because this concentrates wealth with a few, turns people into mindless consumers.. well, capitalism stuff. It's a very weird dichotomy because capitalism absolutely encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. Consumerism is great for progress because people's willingness to purchase something is higher in consumer economies, which is ultimately great for entrepreneurs because their customers or users expect lesser value for their dollar as opposed to most other economies. This is a very important distinction and a core reason why america is a hotbed for innovation. Question is - is this at all possible without making people dumber?

I disagree that humans are inherently violent. While there will always be cases of violence, humans are aware that the survival of species depends on collectivism rather than individualism. People exhibiting individualism - whether it be through religious, sectarian, or any other ways are always going to lose. And of course, there are also mental health issues.

The problem really is that although a majority has bought into this idea, there are instances or groups that have not.

If anything, promoting intelligent discourse that are not knee jerk reactions brings us together.
